DMESC hosted FBLA District Testing for more than fifty high school students from Caddo Hills, De Queen, Dierks, Foreman, Horatio, Mineral Springs, & Oden! FBLA District Testing involves competitive exams on various business topics and serves as a crucial step in the Future Business Leaders of America competition pathway, where members demonstrate their knowledge in areas such as finance, marketing, or IT, leading to regional and state recognition, with successful test-takers advancing to higher levels of competition.
DMESC would like to extend a special thank you to FBLA District IV Coordinator Carie Maroon for being on hand and serving as a test proctor for the students.

Karen Garner, Local Lead Captain, has been attending staff meetings at area child care centers and discussing the new assessment tool called CLASS. Garner is a Prek & Infant/toddler observer as well as a measurement trainer for Prek, and recently completed her measurement training for Infant/toddler. Every child care center that receives funding for children (vouchers) will have a piloted CLASS observation this year. The 26/27 school year will be the first year that every classroom at all sites will receive a formal observation 2 times per year. Pictured is Garner with the director, Gwen Williams, and her staff of Mary’s Little Lamb Childcare and Preschool located in Ashdown. This wonderful group of ladies was eager to connect, collaborate, and learn about the CLASS tool.

DMESC's Foster Grandparent Program volunteers worked very hard on making blankets for patients for their MLK Service Project in December.  These blankets will be distributed this month for cancer patients receiving chemo, for children in Arkansas Children's Hospital or for newborns and moms at local pregnancy centers. Blankets are donated to at least 8 facilities in Arkansas. #yourBESTsolution #thinkcoop1st We Serve and Support our Schools so that ALL Students Succeed. #AmericorpsSeniors  #FosterGrandparents60
